Dorothy Porter - Club Welfare Officer

Dorothy Porter and Lucy Roberts
Dorothy Porter - DCC Child Welfare Officer and Lucy Roberts Deputy CWO

Hi. My name is Dorothy Porter. I have had 3 sons playing for Ditchling. My eldest, Doug, coached the u14s, my husband Nigel the U13s. I have done the admin and scoring for many junior sides.

Ditchling achieved Clubmark by complying with the good practise guidelines as laid down by the ECB to safeguard and protect children within the club. I have trained as the Club Welfare Officer (“CWO”). As such I work with the coaches, the committee and members to ensure that DCC is a safe and fun place for children to play, and improve their cricket.

A child, by the way, is technically anyone under the age of 18.

My role does not only concern Ditchling juniors. Anyone with a concern about any child’s welfare, be it suspected emotional or physical abuse, bullyng or a concern that the child is not enjoying the coaching / games can speak to me in confidence and I will listen and do my very best to help.

The deputy Club Welfare Officer is Lucy Roberts whose son Alex plays in the U12s, She can be contacted on 01273845520 or 07850125701.
